Comparison of Matthew 24 and Revelation 6
Comparison of Matthew 24 and Revelation 6 of the King James Bible
What I found interesting in the comparison in what Matthew in his book showed Jesus predicted to be, was actually seen happening in Johns book through Christ's actions Himself. The literalness of the words had many similarities but so did the placement and positions within each book. For example in Matthew, Jesus is the one speeking of the prediction where as in Revelation it is actually "Jesus the Lamb" only whom is worthy to open the seals of the predicted events he had once made. In Johns book we read the actual description of the prediction Christ had claimed to Israel.
The next unique writing style I found was in the placement of the scripture. One can note complete similarities in a verse by verse study. In both books several verses read the same in the same placement. Verse 7 in both discusses the horrible sorrow to be on the earth with famine and earthquakes, unlike any ever before. Verse 8 in both locations show this is the start of these sorrows. Verse 9 discusses the persecution of those who will believe and follow Christ and again in Verse 16, the people of the earth want to hide themselves from God.
My last note of comparison without actually repeating what the Bible states regarding these two books, is that the reading of Revelation Chapter 6 proves Matthew 24 was written to the Nation of Israel and not the Church. This also gives back up proof that Matthew 24 is a discussion in regards to the Tribulation period and not the Rapture. Matthew 24 is a description of the tribulation time to come where as Revelations 6 is the actual prediction revealed. Both Books show the same story, one being future the other being present from the writers view. And for the Church it shows promise and hope rather than sufferings.
